  • The Parisians' Guide to Cafés, Bars and Restaurants 9 years ago Some of you may have noticed the rather prolonged absence of any new posts on souslestoits. Those who know the ways of the French may well have just assumed I was on a 6-month-long congé. Alas this is not the case. The truth is I have left my beloved Paris for pastures new in London. […]
  • How to be Parisienne - a basic guide 10 years ago Ladies, are you new to Paris and desperate to acquire that je ne sais quoi that will make you instantly fit in as a true Parisienne, and have hordes of gorgeous Parisian men falling at your feet? Quoi? You’ve done your research and you hear there’s an excellent how-to guide called “La...
  • The Truth About Gallic Gals 10 years ago French women are surrounded by myth. They’re supposed to be the sexiest, the chic-est, the most feminine, the best mothers. The list goes on and isn’t helped by recent books like “French women don’t get fat” and “French children don’t throw food.” Sickeningly smug titles that can...
  • Paris party-ers to elect new Nightlife Mayor 10 years ago Parisians to the polling station! This Saturday night will see the City of Lights hold it’s very first election for Nightlife Mayor! Finally Paris will have someone to represent the night-owls and maybe even revive Paris nightlife to its former glory. I can’t be the only one who finds the...
  • Le British Craze 10 years ago Having lived in France for five years, the number of times I’ve heard my home cuisine insulted by a French person is too many to count. It seems to be wired into their DNA: French food is the best in the world (“mais bien sur!”) and British fare isn’t fit for an animal to eat. […]

Some very useful insights on how to navigate through the world of Parisian culture. The essential Gare du Nord survival guide was a particular highlight!

Very interesting and full of insights. I didn't know about the Nuit Blanche and, as a fellow Brit, it makes me want to experience the 'real' Paris as opposed to the tourist one.

I really look forward to reading Naomi's blog entries, her witty insights in to Parisian life make me chuckle. Her writing style is brilliantly deadpan. But for me the best entries are all about food, dedicating an entry to the perfect Chevre is a winner in my book!
