Blue Abaya writes candidly and passionately about her adopted home of Saudi Arabia. She never holds back when expressing her thoughts, but she treats all of her subjects with love, humour and fairness. Her blog is one of the best I have encountered about the life of a foreigner in the Kingdom and she gives outsiders such as myself an honest peak into this mysterious place. Keep up the good work, Blue Abaya!

Her blog opened new worlds and countries(Finnland, Saudi Arabia) to me, and reading differences and similarity brought me to be a person to adapt and accept differences in my own life as well. I love the way she expresses her experiences. 5 stars for her! Blue Abaya has to win! I hope to read more awesome posts in the future as well.

Blue Abaya is the best Saudi expat blog because her posts are so unique and different from everyone else. I love to read about her intercultural marriage, her intriguing and funny experiences working as a nurse in KSA, her countless travels around the country and most importantly I love the photos which give a visual tour of the entire culture and nation. For someone like me planning on moving there this blog has given me light and hope that it is possible for a woman to live in Saudi and be happy. Keep posting and thank you!

In comparison with other social media domains such as Facebook and Twitter , Blogs are not that common for Internet users in MENA region , Blue Abaya is one of rare interactive blogs in Saudi, spotting the light on several aspects of Saudi Life , with focus on culture . The great thing about Blue Abaya and just as the name itself , the controversial combination of its blogger background , that is absolutely gives the reader , specially the Saudi, a taste of pleasure exploring his own culture in the eyes of the” Scandinavian other “

Blue Abaya is a fantastic blog. The writing is entertaining, honest, and compassionate. The pictures are excellent, and the mood and feel of the blog transport me. I love the mix of cultures--- glimpses of Finland and views of the Desert and real life in Saudi Arabia. It's one of my very favorite blogs.

I am Greek and I spent 7 months in Riyadh. I missed my country, my family and my friends every single day. Allthough I met a lot of nice people, Saudis and others, I thought that life in Riyadh was unbearable. Until I came accross Blue Abaya's blog and realised that my feelings had a lot to do with my attitude. This lady inspired me to try and find positive things in my life there. I am back in Grece now but I still love reading her so beatifully narrated experiences. So keep up the good work, you really do deserve the 5 star rating.

By far the best Saudi expat blog! Blue Abaya gives true insight on the pleasures and hardships of being an expatriate (woman) in Saudi Arabia, all the while maintaining a great sense of humor. This blog has had great impact on me personally, as well. I discovered it a year before moving to the Kingdom and started following it faithfully, as each post gave me courage and reduced my anxiety about moving to this foreign land. Not only that, but it inspired me to create my own expat blog. Thank you Blue Abaya, keep up the amazing work! :)

When I moved to Riyadh from the US two years ago I was in culture shock and very depressed to be in such a foreign and strange place. Blue abayas blogposts helped me cope with the craziness and look at the negativity of this country from a different light. Layla put humour and sarcasm in such bizarre situations that made me only laugh and actually look fwd to hear about more experiences ... Everyday is a new experience in Ksa... Thanks a lot for being such a great friend ad neighbor and support system..! Love ya Layla hope u win!
