As reported by the BBC, A fifteen-year-old UK national has died as a result of falling off the balcony of a Dubai building. Harry Harling, who was originally from Surrey, is believed to have suffered fatal blows after falling from the 11th floor.
Harling reportedly moved to the UAE with his family about nine years ago. The teenager’s family sent out a statement through the Foreign Office to pay tribute to their “wonderful son and brother".
According to the statement, no official information about the circumstances surrounding the teen’s death is yet available from Dubai Police. Harling was in the 11th grade and was a pupil at Jumeirah College, where staff and students said they were “deeply saddened” by his death.
Dubai Police are currently investigating the circumstances around Harling’s fall from the balcony, from a building that overlooks a construction site.
A spokesman from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office said the officials were aware of the British national’s death in Dubai and were providing consular assistance.
Many tributes have been paid to the teen via Facebook and Twitter, expressing how much Harling was loved and would be missed.
