A new, fully comprehensive map shwoing the location of schools offering the British Curriculum has been launched online and is aimed at helping expat parents world-wide to find the best international schools for their children.

The British Curriculum is considered to be the prime educational system for UK expat children whose parents are or are planning to work in diverse overseas regions. It’s not offered at all international schools, but is essential for British youngsters who will be returning to the UK for further university-level education.

More than 1,000 schools scattered across the world now work with the curriculum, with the largest number concentrated in Europe and India. Surprisingly, given the Chinese respect for an excellent education and the country’s increasing popularity as a destination for working expats, few, as yet, are found in China.

Australia has at least one in every major city, several are located in the UAE and the curriculum is adequately represented in the Americas. Many of Africa’s coastal cities have at least one accredited school, and the Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand host the curriculum in several of their international schools.

The aim of the map, found on Expat&Offshore’s website at www.expatandoffshore.com/british-schools-abroad, is to provide a much-needed resource for UK families wishing to smooth the process of moving offshore to work. Full details of each school, including student population sizes, location and contact details are given.
