With the support of the Government, a successful immigration fair was hosted in Luxembourg by the Comité de liason des association d’étrangers (CLAE).
Integration was the main theme at this year’s event and the Minister for Family and Integration, Corrinne Cahen, supported the aims of the fair. She said that better integration should be the responsibility of all who reside in Luxembourg, where foreigners make up 45 per cent of the population. She also highlighted the importance of the work done by CLAE and organizations with similar missions and pointed out that they must work together to address this issue. She also encouraged individuals to volunteer at such organizations.
The Festival of Migration, Culture and Citizenship, which was held on the 14th March, started with a debate, which focused on the arrival of immigrants to Luxembourg and how the process could be improved.
This was the 32nd anniversary of the event, which runs for three days and involves a variety of workshops, exhibitions, talks and entertainment from around the globe, showcasing the commitment from Luxembourg of warmly welcoming immigrants.
