British expat found dead in Phuket home

A 58-year-old British man has been found dead at his home in Phuket.
At about 3:30pm, police and rescue workers found the dead body of Dennis Arthur New at his home in Srisoonthorn.
Lt Kraisorn from the Thalang Police said to the Phuket Gazette that he believed that Mr New had died 10 hours prior to their arrival and that there were no signs of a struggle.
Lee Hunt, Patong resident and a friend of Mr New, notified the police of the death.
Lt Kraisorn explained that Mr New, who worked in the construction business, had been living with his wife and daughter in Phuket for a year. On Sunday, his family returned to England.
The police were told that Mr New’s wife had spoken to Mr Hunt and had asked him to check on her husband’s safety after she was unable to get into with contact him.
Lt Kraisorn said that Mr New’s dead body was found by Mr Hunt at around 2pm, the police were then immediately contacted.
Mr Hunt explained that Mr New suffered from high-blood pressure and a history of heart problems.
Lt Kraisorn said that the police believed that his medical conditions were to blame however they are still waiting to hear confirmation from Talang Hospital’s medical staff as to the cause of his death.
