Properties in Costa Calida proving to be popular amongst expats

There seems to be a recent return of foreign buyers in the Costa Calida region. According to figures which have recently been released, the amount of property purchases made by foreigners in the final quarter of 2014 are rising compared to figures recorded in the same region during 2013.
Last year, there was a total of 11,040 properties bought in the Murcian Region which was an increase of 11.9 per cent compared to the previous year. Out of this total, non-Spanish buyers rose 11.4 per cent from 2013. Some 2,338 properties were bought by foreigners and they make up a total of 21 per cent of property purchases made in the region.
The amount of properties sold also increased in 2014. Nearly €5 million was spent on properties in the Murcian Region. The Valencia Region had a 10.3 per cent rise in the property market turnover from 2013, with 54,059 properties sold during the year 2014. Non-Spanish buyers made up 35 per cent of this total and more than half of purchases of residential properties on Costa Blanca were made by foreigners.
