The British couple who were recently murdered in their villa in Benidorm previously experienced two robberies and had put their property on the market in order to move closer to their son in Mallorca.
Their three bedroom villa had reportedly been put up for sale for €230,000 after they had been burgled twice so that they could move to Palma de Mallorca and live near their son Sasha.
Peter and Jean Tarsey were found dead in their villa on Sunday Afternoon in Xalo when their dinner guests raised the alarm after arriving at their house. They were both 77 years old.
The murder weapon is thought to be a calibre gun after they were found shot dead sitting on the sofa still in each other’s arms surrounded by bullet casings.
The case is being treated by the police as a homicide in light of the fact that their television was missing and their computer had been thrown into the swimming pool.
The couple had no criminal history and had been living as expats in Spain for the past 18 years. Mr Tarsey competed as a diver for Great Britain at the Olympics in Melbourne in 1956. The couple were well know locally and were described by their neighbours as a ‘lovely couple’.
